The California National Guard was called in ahead of possible protests, and California's slow vaccination is notorious because neighbors queue at Cal Expo, where mass vaccinations are not offered. The state Capitol, California Capitol, House of Representatives and other state buildings are being erected in response to a possible protest by anti-vaccination protesters. California Governor Jerry Brown and his administration are behind it all, and have called on the National Guard to "protect and rearrange" the state Capitol.
Downtown Modesto is hosting the first Art in the Park festival, where local artists will present their work on a self-guided tour of the historic downtown area. The promenade is intended to create a safe space for people of all ages, genders, ethnicities and religions.
Downtown Modesto is home to large-scale art celebrating the history of American graffiti, and the mural-painting organization Classic Community Murals has launched a campaign to celebrate the classic graffiti heritage of Modestos.

In September 2010, the UCLA Center for Health Policy Research published a study stating that the number of children under 18 living in non-family households in the city of Modesto was 32% of the population in 2010, compared to 28.2% born in non-family households. The census showed that 1,189 (0.6%) lived in "non-institutionalized" groups, of which 1,766 (0.9%) were "institutionalized." There were 38. 7% of married couples living together, 51.5% of them living in households with children under 18 years of age (age 18 and older), 14.3% of them were female homeowners with a husband, 28% had no family members, 7.8% had no family member, 2.1% lived in single parent households, 4.4% in married couples, 3.0% as single homeowners and 1% in married households with two or more children.
The racial composition of the city was as follows: Hispanic / Latino race make up the majority in Modesto (51.5%) and white (49.7%).
There are a lot of apartments built between 1970 and 1999, but a smaller part of the housing stock also dates from 1940 to 1969. Houses were also built in some parts of the city in the early 1990s, and some houses were removed from their original location, and modern renovations have affected their NRHP designation.
The McHenry Mansion (# 33) was built in the early 1880s by Robert McHenry, a local rancher and banker. Robert Walton House was built on the site of the former residence of William Wright Walton, one of Los Angeles "most famous businessmen.
The Nuts play 70 home games a season and are a subsidiary of the Seattle Mariners. The stadium was renovated in the early 1990s as part of a $1.5 million renovation project by the City of Los Angeles.
Modesto is served by the Modesto City and County Airport, located on the San Joaquin River south of the city's central business district. California State Route 132 provides commuters with access to the highways to and from the Bay Area, and Amtrak's SanJoaquin service runs regularly to San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego and Sacramento, as well as Sacramento and San Jose. In Modesta there is also a small stream, aptly named Dry Creek (heavily polluted by agricultural runoff), which is located next to several parks in Modestos.
The nearest large open sea port is the port of Stockton, which is used for maritime shipping. The Southern Pacific Railroad Depot was built in the 1930s as part of the Pacific Coast Line of California Pacific Railway. During World War II, the area supplied canned food, powdered milk and eggs to U.S. and allied forces. A canning plant in downtown produced food that was shipped to Sacramento and Fresno, usually by transfer train.
Modesto is located in the Central Valley, about 40 miles north of Sacramento and about 50 miles south of Fresno. Distances to other locations include San Francisco, San Jose, Sacramento, Stockton, Modesto, Fresno and San Diego.
Ceres is the 18th largest city in the state of California and part of the San Joaquin Valley, a region of more than 1.5 million people. Ceres' real estate prices are significantly below the average prices compared to national prices.
Over the last 10 years, Ceres has experienced an average annual property appreciation rate of 1.5%. Compared to California, the data show that Ceres' recent annual upgrades are 2.2%, 3.0% and 4.1%, respectively. Ceres real estate has appreciated 130.02% over the last decade, making Ceres one of the top 10% in real estate appreciation nationwide. This is a significant increase compared to the previous annual average of 11.4% in 2010.
