The California National Guard was called in ahead of possible protests, and California's slow vaccination is notorious because neighbors queue at Cal Expo, where mass vaccinations are not offered. The state Capitol, California Capitol, House of Representatives and other state buildings are being erected in response to a possible protest by anti-vaccination protesters. California Governor Jerry Brown and his administration are behind it all, and have called on the National Guard to "protect and rearrange" the state Capitol.

California State Route 132 provides commuters with access to the highways to and from the Bay Area, and Amtrak's SanJoaquin service runs regularly to San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego and Sacramento, as well as Sacramento and San Jose. In Modesta there is also a small stream, aptly named Dry Creek (heavily polluted by agricultural runoff), which is located next to several parks in Modestos.

The nearest large open sea port is the port of Stockton, which is used for maritime shipping. The Southern Pacific Railroad Depot was built in the 1930s as part of the Pacific Coast Line of California Pacific Railway. During World War II, the area supplied canned food, powdered milk and eggs to U.S. and allied forces. A canning plant in downtown produced food that was shipped to Sacramento and Fresno, usually by transfer train.

Modesto is located in the Central Valley, about 40 miles north of Sacramento and about 50 miles south of Fresno. Distances to other locations include San Francisco, San Jose, Sacramento, Stockton, Modesto, Fresno and San Diego.

Ceres is the 18th largest city in the state of California and part of the San Joaquin Valley, a region of more than 1.5 million people. Ceres' real estate prices are significantly below the average prices compared to national prices.

Over the last 10 years, Ceres has experienced an average annual property appreciation rate of 1.5%. Compared to California, the data show that Ceres' recent annual upgrades are 2.2%, 3.0% and 4.1%, respectively. Ceres real estate has appreciated 130.02% over the last decade, making Ceres one of the top 10% in real estate appreciation nationwide. This is a significant increase compared to the previous annual average of 11.4% in 2010.
